b) Safety Officer
(1) Follow up with
the concerned authorities within the educational
institute for the provision of safety and fire
prevention and fighting equipment necessary for the
implementation of the emergency plan.
(2) Maintain
records of the safety equipment, current conditions and
maintenance requirements and shall also maintain a
proper log of the selected Floor/Building Controllers
and the fire drills, training courses and the previous
fire incidents in the educational institute and the fire
prevention activities and the minutes of the meetings
held for discussing fire prevention and other safety
issues.
(3) Train the
Safety Team members on how to accomplish their missions
while dealing with the risks at the beginning of its
occurrence and on how to use the fire fighting systems
and equipment and communications systems and on how to
carry out the evacuation process.
(4) Set detailed
instructions for the persons assigned to sound or stop
the automatic alarm system.
(5) Follow up
periodical inspection and maintenance of the fire
prevention systems in the educational institute and
maintain sufficient records of all tests carried out.
(6) Immediately
advise the General Supervisor of any incidents occurring
within any of the educational institute buildings.
(7) Supervise the
Floor/Building Controllers and the assembly points in
charge while carrying out the duties assigned thereto.
(8) Assist the
General Supervisor while leading the incident combat
efforts.
(9) Receiving the
official emergency services team and providing them with
all possible support and assistance. |
