          The main control panel should be available in the administration building and a staff member shall be assigned to monitor the situation during official working hours.

 

          Further, a secondary control panel shall be allocated in the room of the school Watchman for follow up after the official working hours.

 

          The school bell must sound different from the fire alarm bell. The Control Panel Operator shall be responsible, inter-alia, for the following:

 

(1)     Watch the fire panel at all times.

 

(2)     Upon the appearance of fire indicator on the control panel, the system automatically sounds the alarm identifying the affected area.

 


 

(3)     Contact the Safety Officer and the concerned Floor/Building Controller for investigating the matter and whether the alarm was real or false.

 

(4)     Ensure that all lifts, if any, have been brought down to the ground floor.

 

(5)     Ensure cutting off power sources in the places requiring the same.

 

(6)     Ensure the announcement of evacuation messages through the internal public address system.
